Braves Marketing Partners earn an A+

The Absegami Wrestling Marketing Partnership has just begun it’s tenth season in the dual role of providing visibility for some of our area’s finest businesses as well as helping the Braves pay for the items that are not financed by your tax dollars.

For an annual contribution of $250 ($350 the first year which includes the design and manufacture of a custom 12-square-foot sign for the gym) our partners receive exposure during all Absegami indoor sporting events and receive frequent mention on the Absegami Wrestling website. The program has been rolling along since it’s birth in 2012 without suffering so much as a takedown.

Until last year.

Due to the virus last year some of our partners’ businesses weren’t even open. Some were open part of the time and a lucky few weren’t really affected all. Two of our longtime supporters, Lilly and her family at Absecon’s China Sea Restaurant and Margie and Vaughn Reale of Sports Clips in Mays Landing weren’t open at all. China Sea tried to scrape by with outside takeout orders as patrons weren’t allowed inside.

In early fall 2020 when we started visiting with our partners to plan the 2020-21 season it was apparent that we stood a good chance of losing a chunk of our fundraising revenue due to the lousy business climate brought on by the lockdowns.

But a strange thing happened.

We didn’t lose a single partner last season. China Sea even donated an amount that exceeded their annual renewal amount anticipating that we might have trouble raising the money we need each year to help keep the program running smoothly. And China Sea did this even though they couldn’t let anyone set foot in their restaurant. Margie Reale of Sport Clips paid to renew her partnership even though they were shut down completely. Amazing. Last year we didn’t lose a single partner due to the virus or to any other cause.

This year was a close copy. All our partners renewed again despite the presence of virus variants that have been causing plenty of trouble. Eddie Gaudiello’s Pitney Italian Market, Pat D’Arcy of D’Arcy Johnson Day (who was our very first marketing partner in 2012) The Reales’ Sports Clips, China Sea, our great friend Keith at Training Wheels Driving School, Frank Rudisill Certified Financial Planner and Chris Bell of Absecon Lawncare are renewed for another season of supporting the Absegami Braves.

When you have an opportunity to do so please do business with our sponsors and when you do, tell them how much your appreciate what they do to keep our kids on the mat, winning.
